robot programs, creating any documentation or programming

details to make the line user friendly, working with GM

personnel to help them learn about the Fanuc, Lincoln, WTC,

SMC, Proteus, and Highyag equipment, ensuring all programs

are up to date with documentation on new revisions or part

changes, troubleshooting open welding issues as they arise

(robotic programming, data adjustments, equipment set up),

assisting the Destruct/Inspection Group with any

documentation or following up on any weld concerns.

. Daily monitoring of Weld Water System.

. Developing an increased knowledge of aluminum GMAW welding,

resistance welding, laser welding, and Flow Drill Screw

process (understanding each process's effects on different

alloys and joint designs).

. Developing knowledge of GM standard for assembly line

process: safety regulation, HMI controls, robotic programs,

weld classification/ development process, material

classification, and general cell set up.

. Developing ability to write custom logic for the Fanuc

controller to help monitor contact tip changes, part

counts, inspection parts, laser consummables, etc.

debug).

Bowling Green Metalforming

Bowling Green, KY

. 2004-2008

Weld Technician

. Beginning experience in Quality Department. Helped set up

initial cross sectioning procedure, weld destruct process,

weld length process, and weld defect tracking procedure

along with training new employees in these practices.

Worked on Ford Explorer, Ford Heavy Duty pickup, Ford D3

platform, Ford 520 platform, Mercedes front and rear cradle

platform on prototype builds into PPAP phase and eventually into

daily production. Duties included setting up prototype area

(installing welding equipment and work fixtures, organizing

parts, and developing build process flow) along with manual

welding/ building the frames themselves.

. Line installation duties included: installation of weld

equipment, debugging of assembly cells, setting up welding

programs including weld data, torch angle, and proper stick

out.

. Continued experience into Maintenance Department (May

2005). Daily duties include: creating and adjusting weld

programs on Fanuc robots (external and internal torch dress

styles) using Lincoln single and tandem GMAW welding

processes as well as the Fronius tandem GMAW process.

Preventative Maintenance work on: welders, wire feeders,

ebc and 4/0 cables, and Tregaskiss torch cleaners.

. On the job experience built robotics skills with re-

sequencing and reducing cycle times for welding programs,

background editing, program adjustment, teaching using dual-

arm robotics, set up of weld length registers, use of if

statements- jump labels- inputs/outputs- error recovery- in

weld programs, material handling robot experience. Further

welding experience built skill set: using multi-process

welding (various Lincoln waveforms for different needs,

i.e. large gaps, tight torch angles, odd joint designs,

dealing with arc blow/tool magnetization, and varying joint

location).

. Understanding of resistance welding process and basic

troubleshooting of weld issues and some equipment.

. Assisted Maintenance with basic troubleshooting and

replacement of prox cables, air lines, cylinders, and

clamps.
