• Production Logging with Electric Line cable through CT [OPQL, MOQ, QP]
Production
Logging with 1.50”, 2.00”, 2.38” CT in Cased/ Open hole, SLB, conventional and pressure deploying PLT tools.
Logging
• Design jobs with CT Tractors for Extended Reach 2.00”, 2.38” & 2 7/8” CT [RasGas]
Extended
Simulate with both Welltec (based on flowrates) and Western Well Tools(based on backpressures) Tractors for
Reach
extended reach
• Design a job specific tapered 2 7/8”CT for a horizontal well [RasGasG]
2 7/8”CT (14,000’ long with 6 tapers) was opted to reduce pumping time. In the event that it couldn’t reach TD
a CT tractor was worked on as a contingency.
• Stimulating Multi lateral wells with lateral re entry tools [OPQL]
Stimulation
Multi lateral wells with up to 4 laterals, stimulating up to 3 laterals in a single run, without resurfacing
• Stimulating through CT [OPQL, MOQ, RG, Shell, QG3&4, QP]
Running into Dual completion wells, stimulate each individual string
• N2 Lifting [Maersk, Qatar Petroleum]
• Perforating with CT [OPQL]
Perforating SLB Perforating guns were run with 2.38”CT with Electric line cable, depth of 12,000’
• Sand Cleanout using CT [OPQL, QG3&4]
Sand Cleanout
Sand and other sediments brought back to surface by circulating with fluids or by Venturi Junk Baskets
• Coiled Tubing Drilling [RasGas, QG3&4]
CT Drilling/
Drilling with CT through drillpipe to establish recirculation thereby freeing stuck drill pipe
Milling/ Fishing
• Milling [RG, OPQL, QG3&4]
Various milling runs with reamers, burning shoes, milling bits to clear blocked tubing
• Fishing in Cased/ Open Hole [OPQL]
• Fishing for cable in Cased hole [OPQL]

• Drill Stem Test (DST) Operations on Gas wells [RG, QP, Wintershall,Shell]
DST Extensive work with 1.5” CT in gas wells up to 4,200psi., spotting of acid across perforations before major acid
job, running samplers to collect live gas samples, lift well with N2, work closely with client to work out the site
layout, coordinate equipment and personnel movement, schedule maintenance work on a timely basis as DSTs
last up to 90days. Identified and improved operations by reducing rig up time by 45%
• Setting Bridge Plugs through Coil Tubing[RG, OPQL]
Well • Setting Cement plugs through Coil Tubing[RG, OPQL, QP]
Abandonment
• Electrical Submersible Pump ( ESP) Installation and Fishing
Other Projects
2.375” CT was used for fishing ESP and install back ESP in Al Morjan Platform (OPQL)
• Shifting Down hole Sleeves with CT [MOQ]
• Stimulate and N2 Lift a High Pressure Gas Well with CT [Shell,Wintershall]
2.00” CT was used to stimulate an 18,000’ gas well with a CITHP of 4,200psi. and then use N2 to lift fluids
Challenges RIH to TD with snubbing forces of 15,000lbs.; well flowed back @ 110mscf/day on
surface while lifting fluids with CT in hole.
• Cement plug through CT, CT Milling [RasGas]
A leak was detected in the production tubing of a North Field gas well. A Composite Bridge plug was set with
wireline beneath the leak, CT was used to set a cement plug over the bridge plug to positively secure the well.
Once the completion tubing was replaced, CT was used to mill out the cement and bridge plug to get the well
back to production
• PLT job with 2.38” CT [MOQ]
Challenges: 2.38”CT required getting deeper into well, Rig crane unable to lift weight of WR with required CT
length
CT was mobilized separately, on a Work Reel and with a metal spool (to be used with Spooling Foundation).
After spotting the equipments the CT string was welded together on location, and then spooled over completely
to the Work reel on the main deck after NDT and pressure testing. The cable was injected offshore as well.
• Liftboat Operations [OPQL]
The Kikuyu Barge has a semi permanent Coiled tubing unit installed for a six week campaign. The barge runs
2.00” and 2.38” conventional and E line coiled tubing strings. Responsible for designs, loadout, tech support,
evaluation and invoicing.
All jobs were simulated using Orpheus and Hydra modules of Cerberus. Advanced coiled tubing
Cerberus simulations were carried out for running into high pressure/ live wells. Different cases ran for
simulating worst cases collapse/ burst. Tapered string designs completely modeled on Cerberus
[Coil Tubing string designer.
