TiO2 replacement pigment resulting in a 10% savings in
chemical cost. The process change also produced a
higher solids product that saved the customer 9% in
shipping cost.

for specialty coating applications.

evaluate filler and coating pigments. Worked closely with
sales and production plant in product evaluation,
development, and improvement. Responsible for setting key
specifications for cationic and anionic pigments. Worked
closely with sales at plant trials. Supervised a group of
six in the Paper Applications Laboratory. Previous position
was Paper Filler Applications Manager. Dry Branch Kaolin
purchased Nord Kaolin in 1997.
11. Evaluated TiO2 replacement pigments in customer's wet
end and coating formulations, and prepared the sales
presentations. These sales presentations resulted
annual sales of $10,000,000.
12. Co-inventor of two patented cationic pigment processes.
These processes led to the development of three
innovative kaolin products for the paper industry.
13. Developed or co-developed four value-added kaolin
products for the paper filler and coating applications.

19. Changed the wet end chemistry of uncoated papermachines
that resulted in cleaner operating conditions. The
cleaner operating conditions led to improved runnability
on the papermachines producing offset and envelope
paper.
