Green Oxford Fall 2011-Spring 2013
A student-led environmental organization at Miami University that works to improve the environment of Miami and Oxford communities through education, action, and leadership. I specifically worked with the Food Group where we hosted composting awareness week in efforts to establish a campus compost, proposed meatless Monday’s in dining halls, and etcetera. Our goals were to increase composting awareness and promote Oxford’s farmers market and Moon Co-op.
Field Course: Geology of Streams May 17, 2013-May 25, 2013
Make observations, collect data, and develop and test hypotheses on the recent geologic record of streams in southwest Ohio and Indiana while canoeing down these waterways. Exploration the impacts of climate change and development of these streams.

Ocean Discovery Institute, San Diego, California Summer 2011 Ocean Science Explorer
Assisted with hands-on environmental education activities for fourth and sixth grade students with diverse backgrounds at low-income, urban schools
Led exciting outdoor field trips at a local protected wetland
Final project: Constructed a lesson plan, which used photometers to test the water quality on the San Diego Bay (lesson plan available upon request)
