Responsible for the transitional activities of existing Proteolix Human Resources processes to continuing Emeryville Human Resources team members. Recognized by the CEO and the Vice President, Organization Development/Human Resources as an integral partner in fostering the company culture of One Onyx and for effectively counseling former Proteolix employees how to be successful in the new combined organization.

* Created or revamped existing human resources processes and reporting tools to streamline communication to management, employees and project stakeholders.
* Served in key role in the development and ongoing administration of the company's compensation guidelines. This allowed for consistent, measurable guidelines for hiring, promotions and dual career pathing. Responsible for understanding and recommending changes to the internal job leveling and position hierarchy. Drove the annual submission process of company Total Rewards data into the Radford Life Sciences compensation survey.
* Routinely called upon to manage sensitive or challenging issues, including coaching managers on the processes required to expertly document/conduct performance improvement concerns/plans. Audited completed annual performance evaluations to ensure employee development and coming year goals were satisfactorily established.
* Developed a limited HRIS within MS Excel that was instrumental in precisely transferring employee information to the new HRIS vendor upon initial implementation setup. Drove the shape and scope of the functional implementation activities of the ADP Human Resources modules for the ADP-HRB (HRIS) system.
* Managed the Proteolix benefits program and continually evaluate industry health and welfare standards. Worked with the benefits broker to shape renewal rates while successfully enriching employee benefits; culminating in minimized cost increases to both employer and participants. Managed the annual open enrollment process.
* Partnered with the Vice President, Human Resources to manage a 30% reduction in workforce (RIF) including the preparation of all required human resources paperwork and participated in RIF coaching sessions for managers. Conducted Proteolix career transition services, helping displaced employees reshape their resumes to highlight their experiences and provide career counseling.
* Participated in Proteolix due diligence activities for potential science collaborations and the eventual company acquisition by Onyx Pharmaceuticals.
* Recognized as a top performer, resulting in promotion at first annual performance review cycle.

Responsible for the day to day administration of the health and welfare plans. Acted as the primary contact with employees and conducted confidential benefits counseling. Developed relationships with benefit vendors to ensure employees concerns were resolved promptly. Drove the annual open enrollment process.
Accomplishments:
* Championed the idea and successfully organized the first annual onsite Health and Wellness fair aimed at reducing company expenses to cover health care costs due to the partially self insured company plan.
* Responsible for new employee on-boarding, selected to deliver the weekly policies and benefits orientation in addition to organizing the quarterly Dolby culture/history/products centric orientation presented by senior executives to educate new domestic/international employees.
* Developed the benefits administration desk procedures and other documents needed for SOX compliance.
* Processed over 250 employee stock option exercises in the three days leading up to the company IPO.
* Actively participated in enhancing the employee health & welfare benefits; educated management and participating employees of necessary changes to existing plans.
* Participated in the design and implementation of the PeopleSoft HRIS from the former Ceridian HR system.

Pro Bono Consultant – Taproot Foundation. The organization matches business professionals providing pro bono talent in the areas of marketing, technology, human resources, design and strategy fields to nonprofit organizations working to improve society.
Former Board Member – Episcopal Community Services San Francisco. The $17 mm annual budget serves over 6,000 people of the city’s low-income community by conducting employment skills re-training, operating 24hr homeless shelters and managing low income housing facilities for individuals, families, and seniors.
