Apprenticeship: Served as an apprentice with N & S Patterns, Inc. from1985-1990. On the job training and education in mastering the trade of patternmaking building pattern masters from blueprint specifications to completion, foundry-ready.
College: Indiana Vocational Technical College (Columbus, IN 1986 & Sellersburg, IN 2001) and McDowell Adult Education Center (Columbus, IN, 1987). Certification in Technical Blueprint Reading & Comprehension; CNC I & II.
High School: 1982 Columbus East High School Graduate.
Pre-apprenticeship majors included Mathematics and Drafting.

Job Skills:
Experienced and skilled in building pattern masters from blueprint specifications,
I am also skilled in vacuum form mold fabrication, plastic welding and thermoset molding.
My skills and teaching ability excel in layout work, milling/machining, models & prototypes.
I operate lathes, Bridgeport (milling) and Bridgeport E-Z Trac, CNC
(Cincinnati Acromatic 2100, Haas VL2, VF1, 3, 6) and have CAD/CAM experience and computer knowledge, including Solid Works, and Feature Cam and other related computer programs and applications. (includes MS Office and computer trouble-shooting skills). I am proficient in operating other job-related machinery and own my own patternmaking tools of the trade.
I have extensive work experience in working with woods Mahogany, Poplar and synthetic woods such as “renshape” and also plastics, which include epoxys, polyurethanes and urethanes and experience in welding plastics such as polyethylene and polypropylene. I have machined such metals as A-2, S-7, D-4, CRS and aluminum. I am thorough and concise and take pride in my ability to present, from start to finish, projects completed according to client’s specifications.
I can work independently with little supervision, and have also supervised and trained others in all aspects of pattern making and machining.
