Elementary School
I am a dedicated, passionate, goal-driven educator with a commitment to individual success and growth. I’m an accommodating and flexible educator with the ability to create hands-on lessons and activities that will engage students. I am a recent graduate from SDSU, with a BA in Liberal Studies and a Credential in multiple subjects, with two subject area clearances. For the past 12 years I have worked with students from the ages of 6 to 18 in after-school programs and sleep-away summer camps. As a result of working with these children, I decided to become a teacher a job I feel has limitless potential because the impact is beyond measure. Teachers will never truly know how many lives they will touch through their dedication and hard work.

Professional Teaching Experience
Language Arts Teacher- I taught 3rd through 6th grade students in small groups of about 6 students. These students were hand selected by staff to give them extra Language Arts support. I based all lessons on the quarterly tests for each individual small group.
Classroom Teacher - I taught a 4th and 5th grade combination class at Liberty Elementary school. I taught my fourth graders a separate language arts unit from my fifth graders. I taught language arts, math, and writing to my fifth graders. Then through rotations I taught writing to all the other fifth graders at Liberty. We have productive collaborations and field trips throughout the year that I held to coordinate and organize.
Student Teaching- I student taught at Chula Vista Hills Elementary in a second and third grade combination class for 8 weeks. During that time I took over math, language arts, spelling, poetry, and some social studies. I took over 2 complete math units from the pre-test to the post-test.
Student Teaching- My second student teaching placement was at Salt Creek Elementary School in a fifth grade class. During that time I took over the modeled reading books, Hatchet by Gary Paulsen and then Esperanza Rising for the last quarter. Then I took over social studies during which time I taught Constitution and Westward expansion. I was also given the chance to take over one of my favorite subject math and then science.
Language Arts Tutor- As part of my credential program, we all worked with a below-level student in reading. The student was from Clear View Elementary School and was in third grade. I assessed her needs and developed activities that would improve her reading skills based on the assessments given.
Christian Youth Theater Teacher ( 2002-2005) As a CYT teacher I instructed students from ages 8-18. In the classes I taught, I had 8- 30 students in a session. The sessions were ten weeks long and I was given a class type (dance, acting, etc.) and then from that class type, I came up with lessons and a showcase to demonstrate the students learning.
Christian Youth Theater Artistic Team- On the various artistic teams I served on, I worked as an assistant to the choreographer and the director. I was on the artistic teams for South County CYT for 3 shows and as an intern director for one show at Central CYT.
Indian Hills Camp(2000- 2007) - I worked at Indian Hills Camp for 7 years. I started as TEAM staff and progressed to a Support staff. As a team staff I assisted the counselors with the 8- 12 children assigned to them for the week. As a support staff I had many jobs, some of which were assistant store manager, craft shed instructor, and games supervisor.
Whispering Winds(2008-2009) I was on their summer support staff. I was asked to assist in the program planning at the beginning of the summer because of my experience at Indian Hills. I also assisted in the kitchen, the camp store, climbing wall, zip line, and carnival set up.
