QUALIFICATION SUMMARY

A welder with 10 years experience in welding stainless steel, cast iron and mild steel in different environments and difficult conditions. As Safety representative I completed a Modern Health and Safety Course at GSRC (Global Sustainable Risk Control). I have a Senior certificate, did my Apprenticeship at Iscor and qualified at MEIETB (Metal and Engineering Industries Education and Training Board). WELDER

Part of a maintenance team working on Tin Plate production lines. My duties in the temper and annealing section is:

• Manual metal arc welding on mild steel constructions.

• Stainless steel welding on stainless steel annealing covers.

• Cast iron welding on furnaces.

• Building and constructing of safety covers, ladders, safety gates and rails.

• Welding on steam, hydraulic and water pipes.

• Operating of a 14 ton mobile crane, 3 ton forklift and tow truck.

SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE

Duties include:

• Responsible for all safety, health and environmental factors of the section and all employees.

• Doing and explaining of HIRA processes (Hazard Identification Risk and Assessment).

• Identification and resolving of core safety problems.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

1. By developing and constructing certain safety covers ; and repairing a reel by gouching and welding, the company saved a great sum of money by not having to buy from contractors.

FINAL COMMENTS

I am very eager to learn and love challenges in the welding field. I consider myself an extrovert and find it easy to work as part of a team. I am a very active person and enjoy outdoor sports. Whether it is work or play, safety always comes first. Ensuring balance between family-life and work is important as I feel family contributes to success and motivates me. I am a non-smoker and in excellent health, use no chronic medication and have the ability to easily adapt to new environments.
