I served in Okinawa, Japan from October 2004 until November 2006. My primary duties included loading and unloading mail, receiving, dispatching, and sorting mail coming into and leaving Okinawa, Japan for military personnel.
I organized and filed over sized and valuable packages, as well as worked in the finance section which means I accepted packages that needed to be delivered. I sold stamps, money orders, and other postal supplies to customers. On ever sale I made I gave outstanding customer service on any question or situation they had.
I was in charge of registered mail section which means I was head of security mail for valuable items. I also redirected mail that had incorrect addresses.
As a secondary job in Okinawa, Japan I drove a 44 passenger bus and a 3 ton vehicle. I drove the bus to transport Marines to and from the rifle range when needed. As well as this job, I did camp services which means I cleaned up the base area.
I volunteered my time in Japanese elementary schools to help the students learn to read and write English through activities.
At Camp Pendleton I received, dispatched, and sorted over sized packages coming into and leaving Camp Pendleton. I delivered mail to the base post offices well driving a 3 ton. I supervised and was head of deployed section, for over a year, which my duties included redirecting all mail that needed to be forwarded to Marines overseas in Iraq and on ship. I had to keep records of all mail going out, inputting stats in the computer as well as filling them.
