Work included the associated infrastructure roads (State of Maryland, County, and private), water services, sanitary and storm services, telephone, electric, and cable.

National Visitor Center, Union Station, Washington, D.C.

Project Manager and Superintendent

• Remodeled Union Station Railroad Station into the National Visitors’ Center for the National Bicentennial Celebration.

• Completed historic renovations.

• Accomplished remodeling while railroad station remained in operation.

• Developed many cost-saving techniques to renovate this historic structure, including designing and constructing movable scaffolding to paint the 100+ foot ceilings, removing the main floor to construct an audio-visual theater.

• Installed hand-dug footings down to the original grades of the Washington, D.C. area in 1900.

• Demolished east end of original Union Station and many passenger platforms to construct a road from front to rear of the building.

• Supervised 5+ foreman and 10+ subcontractors.

• Managed sequencing of the Union Station Parking Garage Project.

• Constructed the 5 story Intensive Care Facility (the first intensive care facility in a single building), underground parking facility and a 6 story multi-purpose medical facility consisting of operating rooms, radiological therapy and diagnostic facilities and patient examination areas.

• Remodeled the complete Outpatient Department including a trauma emergency department suite, pharmacy, and hearing and speech department.
