National Visitor Center, Union Station, Washington, D.C.

• Remodeled Union Station Railroad Station into the National Visitors’ Center for the National Bicentennial Celebration.

• Completed historic renovations.

• Accomplished remodeling while railroad station remained in operation.

• Developed many cost-saving techniques to renovate this historic structure, including designing and constructing movable scaffolding to paint the 100+ foot ceilings, removing the main floor to construct an audio-visual theater.

• Installed hand-dug footings down to the original grades of the Washington, D.C. area in 1900.

• Demolished east end of original Union Station and many passenger platforms to construct a road from front to rear of the building.

• Supervised 5+ foreman and 10+ subcontractors.

• Managed sequencing of the Union Station Parking Garage Project.
