Community Living supports (Adaptive & Independent life Skills):
DDS SDP Service Definition Alignment: Community living supports. This service assists the participant in sustaining their residential living arrangement, maximizing independence, and increasing community integration.
Operational Description: Compass Run acts as guide and teammate to teach real world adaptive skills with the participant’s home and natural community environments. Instruction focuses on active daily living (ADLs), financial literacy, time management, public transit navigation, and safety awareness.
IPP Goal Integration: Serves participants with designated IPP goals aimed at increasing autonomy, mastering self-care, redoing reliance on natural supports, or safely navigating local community.
HCBS Compliance: Fully compliant with Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Final Rule Waiver guidelines. All skills are taught in integrated community setting to promote full inclusion.
Socialization Training (Peer Model Social Skills Training):
DDS SDP Service Definition Alignment: Socialization Training. Programs designed to facilitate regular, meaningful social interaction, communication and peer relationship development.
Operational Description: Interactive group and individual experiences focused on building organic friendships. We teach emotional regulation, collaborative play and relationship building without forcing unnatural conformity.
IPP Goal Integration: Directly maps participant IPP goals centered on overcoming social isolation, improving expressive or receptive peer communication, and building independent community relationships.
Behavioral Intervention Services (BCBA Consultation & ABA):
DDS SDP Service Definition Alignment: Behavioral intervention services. Specialized principles and techniques designed to assist a participant in developing positive, alternative behaviors to replace challenging behaviors.
Operational Description: Compass Run provides applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) oversight led by a board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). We strip away the rigid, clinical table-work or traditional ABA and deliver therapy in the natural environment. Our BCBA designs individualized programs where Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) or behavioral mentors act as encouraging teammates. We focus on positive reinforcement, motivation, and functional communication, teaching vital skills during play, social interaction, and community outings rather than in an isolating clinic.
Staffing Infrastructure:
Clinical Director / Supervisor: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) responsible for assessments, program design, and ongoing data driven modification
Behavioral Mentors / Technicians: Implementers who are trained in ABA principles and embody the Compass Run “teammate” philosophy.
IPP Goal Integration: Formulated for participant whose IPPs mandate specialized support to manage emotional regulation, eliminate behavioral barriers to community access, or build safe self-advocacy skills.
Respite Care (Enriched Respite Care Services):
DDS SDP Service Definition Alignment: Respite Care. Intermittent, temporary relief provided to the participant’s regular, unpaid caregivers to support the family unity and prevent burnout.
Operational Description: Compassionate, temporary relief for parents and primary caregivers. Unlike traditional, passive care, Compass Run respite care is active and engaging. Our trained staff steps in as a responsible “teammate”, keeping the individual safe, entertained, and supported in their home and or community while parents take a much-needed break.
IPP Goal Integration: Designed for families with explicit IPP provisions for Respite care to maintain the home structure and ensure the individual’s safety during caregiver absences.
Individual Training and Education / Specialized Academic Tutoring:
DDS SDP Service Definition Alignment: Individual Training and Education or specialized Therapeutic Services. This includes training programs, workshops, or academic instruction tailored to help a participant develop specific cognitive, learning, or educational strategies to in crease functional independence.
Operational Description: Compass Run provides specialized, neurodivergent-affirming academic tutoring and learning support. Rather then relying on rigid, high-stress classroom dynamics, our mentors act as educational cheerleaders and teammates. We break down complex educational concepts into accessible, engaging steps. We focus heavily on executive functioning, study strategies, reading/math comprehension, and assistive technology trying to reduce learning anxiety and foster a love for education.
IPP Goal Integration: Serves Participants with designated IPP goals focused on improving cognitive function, mastering educational transitions, developing organizational habits, or achieving specific personal learning milestones.
Personal Assistance:
DDS SDP Service Definition Alignment: Personal Assistance. The service includes assistance with eating, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, and essential activities of daily living. This service may include assistance with preparation of meals, but does not include the cost of the meals themselves.
Operational Description: Compass Run’s personal assistance service brings our “teammate” concept directly into the participant’s most private and vital routines. Our staff provide hands-on, respectful, and dignified support with grooming, dressing, meal preparation, medication reminder, and mobility. We ensure safety and care while actively encouraging the participant to perform as many steps independently as possible.
IPP Goal Integration: Designed for participants whose IPPs explicitly state a need for physical or functional assistance to maintain health, safety, and dignity within their home or community.
Compass Run Stans out through out “TeamMate-First” one on one approach to care. While our methods are rooted in proven behavioral science, our delivery relies on building deep trust and emotional safety with the client. By positioning our staff as encouraging peers and cheerleaders chatter then authority figures, we reduce instructional fatigue, increase client engagement and accelerate genuine, long term skill acquisition.

Compass Run is fully committed to operating in complete alignment with the federal Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Final Rule (42 CFR § 441.301(c)(4)). Our service model are designed to ensure that individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities have full access to the benefits of community living and receive services in the most integrated settings possible.
Community Integration: All adaptive and social skills activities take place in natural, fully integrated community settings (e.g., local businesses, recreational areas, public transit) to maximize interactions with non disabled peers.
Individual Choice: Service plans are guided strictly by the participant’s Person-Centered Plan (PCP). Participants retain complete autonomy over their daily schedules, activities, and the staff assigned to support them.
Rights and Dignity: Compass Run ensures each participant’s right to privacy, dignity, respect, and freedom from coercion or restraint during all hours of service delivery.
Independence and Autonomy: Our behavioral and adaptive support focuses on optimization of participant initiative, autonomy, and independence in making life choices.
Informed Decision-Making: We provide accessible information regarding community resources, option, and choices so participants can lead their own developmental journey.
