This position supports the analysis, structuring, underwriting, and coordination of immediate fundings and conversions for permanent financing of mortgage and tax-exempt bonds, adhering to CCRC’s lending policies and procedures. The Lead Underwriter will independently perform conversion analysis upon project completion.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include conducting site inspections, reviewing appraisals, performing pro-forma analysis, analyzing sponsor financial statements, and assisting in the preparation of loan underwriting credit packages. The Underwriter will coordinate with the Loan Administration department to ensure that underwriting, third party reports, and funding requirements are consistent with CCRC’s Due Diligence checklist. Additionally, the VP, Lead Underwriter manages all reporting within the Originations team; in coordination with the Credit Office, Asset Management, and Fiscal Services departments, the VP, Lead Underwriter will gather data, compile reports, and ensure CCRC underwriting standards are consistent with credit policy and actual operating performance of funded loans.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills with financial statement analysis with skill in Excel and financial modeling, as well as ability to read and comprehend complex multi-family project appraisals.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Minimum 3+ years of demonstrated experience with housing and community development and/or multifamily real estate development, including project financing, market analysis, deal structuring, and financial analysis.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex transactions at various stages and coordinate with multiple internal and external parties to meet approval and closing deadlines
