Security Specialist

The Starting Hourly Rate is $17.50 USD per hour. The Pay Range is $17.50 USD - $26.25 USD per hour.

Assets Protection teams work to ensure the safety and security of our guests, team members, and brand, especially during crisis events. They play a vital role in protecting sales by minimizing risks, preventing theft, and ensuring product availability for our guests.

As a Target Security Specialist, you'll gain valuable skills and experience, including:

Utilizing intelligence-led tactics to maintain safety and security for team members and guests

Experience in crisis response, safety, and crowd management

Skills in de-escalation and recovering stolen merchandise

Using Target's video surveillance system effectively

Documenting cases with industry-standard management systems

Your typical day will include:

Welcoming guests and assisting them throughout the store

Maintaining safe standards throughout the store and exterior property

Responding to and documenting security incidents accurately

Using escalation tools for guest issues to ensure a safe environment

Conducting merchandise recoveries and following AP policies during apprehensions

Performing receipt checks for high-value merchandise to prevent theft

Submitting incident documentation according to AP policies

Training team members on merchandise protection

Executing shortage action plans to minimize loss in key areas

Maintaining a clean and safe shopping environment

Ensuring compliance with ethical conduct and safety standards

Identifying and correcting hazards to promote a safe workspace

Performing additional duties as needed based on business requirements

We provide comprehensive training to equip you with the necessary skills to succeed as a Target Security Specialist. Here are a few skills we expect you to bring:

At least 18 years of age

High school diploma or equivalent

Compliance with state or local licensure requirements

A welcoming attitude towards guests and team members

Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies

Strong communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Self-managing with the ability to prioritize tasks

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to climb ladders

Capability to apprehend subjects following company policy

Efficiently handling and moving merchandise, including lifting up to 40 pounds

Flexible availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
