PRN Direct Support Professional (First & Second Shift) Westerville Area
Compensation: $17.50 - $18 /hour
About the Role: First Step Healthcare is hiring reliable, compassionate PRN Direct Support Professionals to support adults with developmental disabilities in the Westerville area. This is an as-needed position with no guaranteed weekly hours, filling first and second shifts when regular staff are unavailable.
What Youll Do:
Provide awake overnight supervision and support
Ensure client safety and comfort
Follow care plans and nighttime routines
Complete documentation (training provided)
Maintain a clean and supportive environment
Requirements:
DODD training (or willing to complete immediately)
CPR/First Aid certification
BCI/FBI background check
Medication Administration required
Or must be willing to take the 2-day Med Admin class immediately
Professional, respectful, and dependable at all times

Responsibilities:
- Execute each task with thoughtfulness and attention, aiming for each client to lead a healthy and fulfilling life.
- Provide bedside or personal care, such as help with walking or personal hygiene.
- Conduct domestic duties, including cooking, cleaning, laundry, or errands.
- Support individuals or families during times of incapacitation, family disruption, or recovery, offering companionship, personal care, or assistance in adapting to new life situations.
- Carry out healthcare-related tasks, like monitoring vital signs and medication, under registered nurses or physiotherapists' guidance.
- Plan, shop for, or prepare nutritious meals, or aid families in these tasks.
- Drive clients to appointments or outings using a motor vehicle.
- Educate or counsel clients on matters like household upkeep, utilities, hygiene, nutrition, or childcare.
- Document and update records on clients' progress, services rendered, and any changes in their condition.
- Ensure weekly reporting compliance regarding clients' objectives and overall health.
Additional Duties: This list does not encompass all responsibilities and duties; other tasks may be assigned.
- Capable of independently lifting up to 35 pounds.
- Able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with another person's help or using adaptive equipment.
Maintain current CPR certification.
Maintain current background check.
Continued Education: completion of state-mandated 8-hour annual training and re-certification.
