Role:

The primary role of this position is to be the key partner to our members financial journey and to help further the Credit Union's commitment to strengthening our communities and expand our current membership. To achieve this mission, the position must deliver high-quality service to both internal and external members. Responsible for processing mortgage loans in conformance with secondary market guidelines. Assist borrowers with same. Under general supervision but must follow established investor guidelines, policies, procedures, guidelines, and other criteria.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

30%

Responsible for the mortgage loan processing of applications of all mortgage loans including FHA, VA, Conventional loans, construction lending and home equity loans. Assist Mortgage loan originator and members with the loan application process.

Prepare and send disclosures to applicants.. Perform monthly escrow review and annual escrow analysis. Review loans to ensure taxes, home insurance, PMI, flood insurance, etc. are paid timely. Inform prospective borrowers of loan commitments.

Order title work, legal work, appraisals, etc. Set anticipated closing date with the MLO and Financial Center staff.

Responsible for collection of fees such as title company, appraiser, etc. Maintain balancing records for same. Record and file necessary documents with state to ensure lien. Be familiar with and adhere to regulations and areas of compliance with RESPA, REG Z, FHA, VA, HMDA, HOEPA and other rules or regulations.

Actively sell and promote products and services beneficial to the member and credit union to improve member retention and increase loan volume. Attend training necessary to perform duties associated with position.

Performance Measurements:

1.

To practice, promote, and support the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the CU and to ensure they are carried out by each employee.

2.

Produce accurate and complete mortgage loan documentation, files, and reports. Meet established deadlines for processing, underwriting, and closing.

3.

Provide informed, prompt, accurate service, and support to all members and associates. Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely and accurate manner, communicating the resolution to affected parties.

4.

Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Credit Union loan products, policies, procedures, standards, and applicable state and federal government rules and regulations. Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.

5.

Maintain complete and well-organized files and records. Submits required reports by established deadlines.

6.

Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance. Maintain the Credit Union's professional reputation with members, realtors, title companies, and other outside contacts.

7.

Must be well versed in Regulations such as: REG CC, BSA, OFAC, Reg B, Reg Z and MIP (CIP).

8.

May have to work occasional Saturday's due to scheduled closings.

9.

Maintain NMLS designation.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience

A minimum of 1 to 3 years experience in Mortgage loan processing and/or servicing mortgages on to secondary market guidelines.

Education

(1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills

Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills

General office equipment such as calculators, computers, photocopiers, and scanners. Demonstrates carefulness about detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks. Talks to others to convey information effectively.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.

Vision requirements include: close vision and the ability to focus. Nature of the position requires physical mobility and the ability to lift a maximum of 30 pounds.

Work Environment

Full-time employees are required to complete (16) hours of volunteerism and (8) hours for Part-time employees. All volunteer time has to be approved prior to event. In addition, needs to benefit or have an impact in Harris County
