Position: Temporary RECE Full Day Educator (contract ending in March 5, 2027)

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated RECE Full Day Educator to join our team!

Location: South Meadow; 23 Royce Avenue, Stoney Creek ON L8G 4C9

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Schedule: Monday to Friday rotating shifts (start and end times subject to change)

Pay Rate per Collective Agreement (includes wage grants): $28.24 per hour

Experience:

At least 1 year of experience working directly with children OR experience in a childcare setting with school-aged children is preferred

Proven ability to plan and implement programs for toddlers and preschoolersEducation:

Diploma in Early Childhood EducationCertifications:

Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators

Standard First Aid with CPR level C certification

Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check

Proof of up-to-date immunizations for TB, Tetanus, and MMR

Skills & Competencies:

Familiarity with the Ministry of Education's How Does Learning Happen? framework is an asset

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Dedication to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and diverse environment

Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced settingKey Responsibilities:

Designing and implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s interests to promote their overall development

Maintaining supervision and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children up to 12 years of age

Organizing indoor and outdoor play spaces, materials, and equipment to create a welcoming environment

Conducting daily health checks on children and documenting any concerns as required by the Ministry of Education

Collaborating with colleagues and maintaining professional relationships with Hamilton Wentworth District School Board staff
