MEDIA PRODUCTION & CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY INTERNSHIP

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Media Production & Creative Technology Internship prepares emerging creators to develop the technical and creative skills behind MTDMN’s storytelling mission. Interns gain hands-on experience in filming, editing, audio production, lighting, digital storytelling, and creative collaboration. This internship is ideal for aspiring filmmakers, editors, podcasters, creators, and students interested in purpose-driven media.

PROGRAM GOALS

1. Produce purpose-driven visual and audio media.

2. Build technical production skills (camera, audio, lighting, editing).

3. Collaborate with MTDMN’s creative and narrative teams.

4. Learn ethical, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed production.

5. Manage creative projects from concept through post-production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with filming interviews and storytelling sessions.

• Operate cameras, audio equipment, and lighting setups.

• Edit video and podcast content.

• Support storyboarding, scripting, and production planning.

• Prepare media assets for MTDMN platforms.

• Work collaboratively across youth, research, and storytelling teams.

• Participate in production meetings and editing reviews.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Interns will:

• Set up and operate production equipment.

• Capture quality audio and video.

• Edit media from rough cut to final export.

• Understand narrative structure in digital storytelling.

• Apply ethical and trauma-informed production practices.

• Collaborate effectively within creative teams.

• Produce a portfolio-ready media project.
