Senior Complex Litigation Attorney

Job Description

A leading national client is seeking Senior Transportation Litigation Attorney to join their team. This position offers meaningful, hands-on litigation experience, exposure to high-profile national clients, and the opportunity to assume substantial responsibility from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a diverse litigation caseload from inception through resolution.

Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis on transportation laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and other essential legal documents.

Represent clients at court hearings, depositions, and mediations.

Negotiate settlements and agreements with strong advocacy and negotiation skills.

Collaborate across departments and offices to foster a cohesive, supportive team environment.

Prepare detailed case analysis reports for client stakeholders, focusing on proactive resolution strategies.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Licensed to practice in Illinois.

8+ years of general casualty litigation experience.

First-chair or second-chair trial experience strongly preferred.

Proven trial experience required.

Background in transportation, logistics, trucking, and related regulatory matters preferred.

Familiarity with emerging e-commerce and gig economy legal issues is a plus.

Strong deposition and motion practice experience.

Exceptional analytical, written, and oral communication skills.

Advanced technical proficiency.
