General Manager

Newbornlander is a fast growing social impact manufacturing company based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. We design and manufacture high quality baby accessories while leading the first settlement employment program for refugee women in the private sector. Our mission is simple: create beautiful products, create meaningful jobs, and create community.

We are looking for a Manager with strong manufacturing and leadership experience to help Newbornlander enter its next stage of growth.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in manufacturing or production management (textiles, apparel, or similar industry preferred)

Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement training (formal certification is an asset)

Experience operating or supporting CNC equipment, automated cutters, or industrial machines

Strong foundation in Quality Control, including creating QC systems and training staff

Proven ability to manage production schedules, workflows, and daily operations

Experience overseeing inventory management, purchasing, and supply chain coordination

Background in B2B and B2C customer relationships, especially within retail or wholesale channels

Experience participating in or organizing trade shows, markets, and industry fairs

Strong leadership skills with experience supervising diverse teams

Experience working in fast paced environments where attention to detail is essential

Excellent communication and problem solving skills

Passion for social impact, community building, and supporting newcomer and refugee women
