Our client is seeking a Professional Warehouse Specialist with solid experience in warehousing, receiving, and inventory management. This role requires more than physical laborâ while stocking and lifting are part of the job, the ideal candidate brings analytical skills, professionalism, and the ability to work independently. The work environment is more professional/business-oriented than a typical warehouse, with significant responsibilities involving asset and property management. The individual must be comfortable interacting with upper management and, at times, high-profile officials.
Responsibilities
Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy
Check for damage and proper documentation
Ensure items are correctly labeled, packaged, and routed
Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records
Maintain inventory and property issuance records
Assist with uniform and equipment procurement
Support distribution of materials across multiple Capitol Hill sites
May direct or coordinate activities of other warehouse staff
Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform requirements
Operate department vehicles around Capitol Hill and the greater metro area (including Fort Meade and Manassas)
Drive vehicles up to the size of a 34-foot U-Haul (box truck experience helpful but not required)
Maintain a valid driverâ s license and clean driving record
Occasionally work in proximity to dignitaries, senators, members of Congress, Sgt. at Arms, and White House officials
Represent the department with professionalism and composure
Shift: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 7:30a-4p; Tuesday and Thursday 9:30a-6p (availability to work overtime on occasions)
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship (mandatory)
Valid driverâ s license with a clean driving record (will be verified)
Experience in a warehouse environment, specifically with receiving and inventory processes
Reliable attendance and punctuality, with a documented history of consistency in previous roles
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to pass a criminal background check (conducted by both NRI and the client)
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong professionalism, including communication skills and a polished, appropriate appearance
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Ability to operate or learn to operate department vehicles, including vans and large trucks (up to the size of a 34-foot U-Haul)
Experience in a professional or business office environment
Experience with asset management or property tracking systems
Box truck or commercial vehicle driving experience
Experience interacting with senior leadership, officials, or high-visibility environments
