Eridge Underwriting is a motor specialist Managing General Agent based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. We are a brand for DUAL Corporate Risks Ltd who in turn are part of the Howden Insurance Group.

Eridge generates over £70 million premium income with 75 Brokers throughout the UK.

We are a team of 20, looking for a Motor Development Underwriter with at least 5 years’ relevant experience to join our Underwriting team, helping The Company to meet growth targets profitably in a controlled and professional way.

The Role

Develop a thorough knowledge of our core insurance products (Private Car, CV, Motor Trade and Taxi) and the way Eridge operates.

Establish positive working relations with our Brokers, identifying and helping to manage and improve their performance.

Handle enquiries from our Broker partners, providing guidance on general risk acceptance, provide bespoke quotes, and renewals.

Assist in ensuring our Brokers are performing their duties on behalf of Eridge in a professional manner.

Contribute to the department achieving administrative SLA targets.

To communicate with colleagues on any observations or matters of business interest.

Help analyse performance of schemes, brokers and product segments.

Work with our Fraud Team to identify any fraud issues.

Understand and act on our regulatory and compliance obligations.

About You:

A person who enjoys working within a team and wants to make a positive difference with their own endeavours and in partnership with colleagues.

Strong analytical skills; confidently handling and interpreting data.

Excellent written and oral communication skills-confident in expressing your views.

An ability to be a decisive and considered decision maker.

The ability to build and manage relationships with brokers and other external partners.

Good organisational skills with ability to work to deadlines.
