Configuration Manager - Technical Specialist - CMDB

6 month contract

Coventry - 2 days per week in the office

£450 per day inside IR35

Our client is looking for a Technical Specialist to take ownership of IT Asset and Configuration Management (SACM) within their Shared Service team. You’ll ensure the integrity of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and drive process improvements using ITIL best practices .

This is a hands-on role with strategic elements, working across IT teams to maintain accurate data, support service improvements, and deliver integration projects.

Key Responsibilities

Define and implement processes for Asset and Configuration Management.

Maintain and audit the CMDB to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Support hardware and software asset management.

Collaborate with Service Management teams to integrate new services.

Facilitate workshops and document policies and procedures.

Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives.

Work on BAU and development programmes, including integration projects.

What We’re Looking For

ITIL Foundation (Intermediate level desirable).

Strong experience in IT Asset and Configuration Management .

Hands-on experience with ServiceNow, including CMDB and ideally CSDM framework .

Knowledge of SACM processes and ITIL best practices.

Experience with hardware/software asset management.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
