Job Description

The Computed Tomography Technologist will utilize computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-sectional images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. This role includes accurately interpreting physician scanning instructions, administering contrast materials, preparing and operating CT scan equipment, and ensuring proper positioning of patients to capture appropriate images. It is essential that the technologist adheres to safety procedures as CT scanners emit radiation.

Responsibilities

Operate CT scanning equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Administer contrast materials as needed for imaging.

Position patients accurately for optimal imaging results.

Interpret and follow physician's scanning instructions.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with safety regulations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

High School graduate; graduate from an A.M.A approved school for radiologic technology and advanced training in CT, MRI, and Interventional Radiography.

Licensed in New York State as a radiologic technologist.

Advanced certification as a CT technologist.

Current ARRT certification.

Certification by NYS for contrast injections required for the position.

A minimum of two years of experience in the field.
