Robotics Technician Whitehall, MI

Salary Range: $57,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and calibrate industrial robotic systems.

Program and teach robot paths, routines, and functions for manufacturing processes.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections on robotic equipment.

Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software malfunctions in robots.

Conduct repairs and replace defective components to restore robot functionality.

Optimize robot performance, cycle times, and accuracy for production efficiency.

Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and standards within robotic work cells.

Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance, repairs, and system modifications.

Recommended Qualifications

Proficiency in programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA).

Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, including reading schematics and using diagnostic tools.

Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) in an automated manufacturing environment.

Associate's degree in Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, OR equivalent hands-on experience.

Ability to perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair on robotic systems and associated equipment.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience with industrial vision systems integration and programming.

Proficiency with specific robot programming languages (e.g., ABB RAPID, KUKA KRL, FANUC Karel) or Python for robotics.

Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, PROFINET) or IIoT concepts.

Basic CAD skills for reviewing mechanical drawings or minor fixture design.
