About the Opportunity
A long-established manufacturer in the industrial and material handling industry is seeking a Structural Engineer to support the engineering, development, and installation of large-scale industrial doors, overhead systems, and structural steel assemblies.
This position requires a mix of technical engineering, field coordination, and structural analysis—not just design work. The ideal candidate has experience working hands-on with fabrication teams, installations, or industrial construction, along with a strong understanding of AutoCAD and structural steel principles.
What You’ll Do
Perform structural calculations, load analysis, and field assessments for industrial door and handling systems.
Review and mark up AutoCAD drawings to ensure accuracy and constructability.
Collaborate with fabrication, installation, and project teams to troubleshoot design and field challenges.
Conduct onsite inspections and provide engineering guidance during installation and commissioning.
Support the development and documentation of engineering standards, materials, and specifications.
Ensure compliance with safety codes, engineering standards, and structural integrity requirements.
Coordinate with customers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects meet design intent and performance criteria.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field (required).
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
3–10 years of hands-on structural or industrial engineering experience, including exposure to:
Structural steel fabrication or erection
Overhead doors, cranes, conveyors, or other material handling systems
Industrial or heavy commercial projects
Strong AutoCAD proficiency (2D required; 3D familiarity preferred).
Ability to perform structural calculations, interpret drawings, and validate designs through field application.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a practical approach to real-world engineering challenges.
Comfortable working in both office and field environments, with occasional travel for site coordination.
