About the Role

Central Texas Recruiting is searching for an Industrial Operations Manager to lead daily plant operations for a fast-paced industrial manufacturing company. This role requires a hands-on leader capable of managing automated equipment, optimizing production output, enforcing safety standards, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

The ideal candidate thrives in active, physical work environments and brings experience from industries such as recycling, aggregates, quarries, oil & gas, paper & pulp, or similar heavy-industrial operations.

Key Responsibilities

– Oversee day-to-day plant activities, including automated production equipment and material-handling systems

– Direct and coordinate production to meet safety, quality, and output goals

– Manage preventive and corrective maintenance to reduce downtime and equipment failures

– Partner with environmental and safety consultants to maintain full regulatory compliance (OSHA, DEP, etc.)

– Lead, coach, schedule, and support plant personnel to maintain productivity and safety

– Review production and performance data to identify process improvements using LEAN methodologies

– Ensure the facility is ready to receive materials and deliver finished products on time

– Lead special projects aimed at improving efficiency, sustainability, and operational effectiveness

Qualifications & Requirements

Must-Have Requirements

– 5+ years of supervisory experience in industrial settings with automated or computerized processing systems (conveyors, PLC-driven machinery, packaging lines, sorting equipment, etc.)

– Background in recycling, aggregate, quarry operations, oil & gas, paper/pulp, or similarly demanding industrial environments

– Ability to work comfortably in active industrial and outdoor environments with exposure to weather and physical elements

– Full physical mobility including walking, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, operating equipment, and performing hands-on tasks

Preferred Knowledge & Skills

– Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing concepts

– Experience working within safety-regulated environments

– Strong leadership and communication skills

– Ability to troubleshoot equipment and coordinate with maintenance teams
