Job Details:

• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 during days and 1:6 during nights and weekends

• Minimum of 2 years medical surgical experience required

• Weekend coverage required with flexible weekend scheduling options

• Possible floating to other units

• Current Missouri or Compact state nursing license required

• Required certifications: Current BLS and ACLS (must have at time of submission)

• PALS certification preferred

• Care for patients with diabetes, COPD, general surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, pneumonia, asthma, and general medical/surgical conditions

• Manage telemetry patients (14 beds) with history of A-fib and syncope episodes

• Skills include accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draws, heparin and insulin administration, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, peripheral line care, IV starts and maintenance

• Work with interdisciplinary support team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams

• Care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations

• Unit has 29 beds with daily census of 24 patients

• References and copy of certifications required for submission
