The role
As a Type 31 Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of one of the UK’s most ambitious defence programmes - the Type 31 Frigate Project. This is your chance to help deliver five advanced, adaptable warships for the Royal Navy, supporting missions from maritime security and humanitarian aid to operations in high-threat environments. Your work will make a real difference to national security and global stability while accelerating your career in a dynamic, innovative environment.
Day-to-day you’ll be required to:
Deliver key project management functions to support overall project delivery
Plan, monitor, and control work packages
Produce and communicate project reporting data
Manage stakeholder relationships and communications
Review, update, and enact the GFA Management Strategy
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 4 days in the office/onsite and 1 day working from home.
Essential experience of the Type 31 Project Manager
Ability to act as a central point between multiple stakeholders, driving issues to resolution
Strong customer and supplier orientation with collaborative problem-solving skills
Proven relationship management with internal and external stakeholders
Enterprise mindset – working interdependently to achieve team success
Solid commercial acumen and experience in collaborative environments
Qualifications for the Type 31 Project Manager
Degree in a relevant subject - desirable
Lean Six Sigma - desirable
Prince2 or APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) - desirable
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
