Exciting Opportunity: ICT Teacher Role in New SEN School in Surrey Are you a passionate and skilled ICT Teacher looking to make a significant impact on the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Join a brand:new SEND Secondary School in Chaldon, Surrey, as part of the growing Aurora Group.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of the school from the very start of its journey This is a permanent contract with a desired start date in January 2026.

About the School and Our Students The school is a new SEND Secondary School opened in September 2025 for young people aged 11:16 who require specialist support.

Our students have social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing needs, typically associated with autism.

They access a broad and exciting curriculum, personalised to meet their individual needs, interests, and passions, within a model of small classes and high levels of classroom support.The Role: Main Purpose and Key Responsibilities As a Teacher, your Main Purpose will be to deliver high:quality teaching and learning for these children and young people.

Key Accountabilities include: * Being responsible for the high quality of teaching and learning of all assigned pupils, and their progress, welfare, and outcomes.

* Supervising the work of any support staff working with your pupils.

* Providing leadership across the school in a designated subject (in this case, ICT), pastoral, or curriculum area.

This includes monitoring quality and standards, contributing to school planning, and providing professional support to other staff.

* Taking responsibility for implementing school policies and practice, including safeguarding and equality of opportunity.

Key Duties related to curriculum and teaching involve: * Contributing to the delivery and development of the curriculum, having regard for the educational, physical, and social needs of the students.

* Developing lesson plans, analysing and self:reflecting on the outcomes.

* Setting, monitoring, and reviewing personalised targets to optimise learning for each individual.

* Working collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi:disciplinary team.

* Appropriately managing challenging behaviours within the school policy and procedures.

* Maintaining an overall awareness of current issues in the field of autism to plan for effective teaching and learning.

What You Need (Knowledge, Skills, and Experience) Essential Knowledge and Experience: * PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or an equivalent teaching qualification.

* A working knowledge of students with complex needs and SEND.

* Evidence of sound knowledge of the National Curriculum.

* Knowledge, understanding, and experience of autism and associated co:morbid conditions and how these can affect learning.

Key Skills: * Good teaching and communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Effective skills in planning, preparation, recording, and reviewing students progress.

* Good IT skills and an understanding of how IT can be used to support learning.

* Ability to work as part of a multi:disciplinary team.

* Ability to remain calm and reflective when working in a challenging environment.

Desirable: * Experience of working in a special school environment, especially with pupils with autism.

* The ability to drive is desirable as public transport connections to the school location are limited.
