About the Role
The Senior Lecturer will be a key member of the academic staff in Palliative and End-of-Life-Care. The incumbent will take a leading position in designing, delivering and evaluating high-quality teaching across lectures, tutorials, laboratory activities, and placement education, with a primary focus on Palliative and End-of-Life Care.
The Senior Lecturer will coordinate topics and courses, ensuring engaging, contemporary curriculum development. A key part of the role is contributing to ethical, innovative research through scholarly activity, quality publications, securing external funding, and mentoring emerging researchers in alignment with the Caring Futures Institute.
The incumbent will champion inspiring, student-centred teaching practices, including the effective use of digital and e-learning technologies to enhance the learning experience.
The role will also provide academic guidance and support to students facing challenges that may impact their progress. In a leadership capacity, the role will contribute to internal and external quality assurance and accreditation processes, helping to uphold and advance the College’s standards of excellence.
About You
You will apply your extensive clinical experience across the continuum of Palliative and End-of-Life Care, along with a proven record of high-quality tertiary teaching. This will include coordinating topics and courses and contributing to innovative curriculum design. You will also bring and maintain full, unconditional registration with AHPRA or the relevant professional association.
You have experience supervising honours, postgraduate coursework and higher degree research students, supporting their academic and research development.
You will demonstrate a strong research profile aligned with the Caring Futures Institute, and this is evident through sustained high-quality publications, senior authorship contributions and success in securing competitive external funding.
You will also demonstrate a clear understanding of the important relationship between teaching, research, scholarship and clinical practice, and how this integration enhances outcomes for students, research partners and the broader community.
