Your responsibilities will include:
Combat Systems Engineer Opportunities – Growing Our Maritime Engineering Team
As we expand our Maritime portfolio, we’re seeking multiple Combat Systems Engineers to join our growing team supporting multiple initiatives across Land, Surface, Subsurface, Air and Space domains. These roles contribute directly to the design, integration and delivery of advanced combat systems for the Australian Defence Force.
About the Opportunities:
As part of our expanding Combat Systems Engineering team, you will contribute to systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle. Working within multidisciplinary teams, you will help shape mission-critical capabilities and ensure the successful delivery of complex naval systems.
You will:
Contribute to Combat System engineering activities including requirements analysis, architecture definition, subsystem development and preparation for integration and verification.
Support the hands-on management, development and refinement of Combat System architectures.
Develop, maintain and update functional and non-functional requirements, system models and design artefacts.
Support planning, development and execution of Verification activities and associated documentation.
Prepare for major program milestones including design reviews, test readiness reviews and system readiness reviews.
Develop and progress Engineering Changes through the engineering lifecycle.
Provide technical expertise and mentor junior engineers as needed.
Collaborate closely with specialty disciplines (Safety, Human Factors, Cyber, Topside, ILS) to ensure design assurance and holistic system compliance.
About you:
You’re a skilled Systems Engineer ready to contribute to high-profile Defence programs. You enjoy solving complex problems, collaborating in multidisciplinary environments, and driving engineering outcomes that make a real impact.
You bring:
Extensive experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, using structured methods, tools (including DOORS) and disciplined processes.
Strong background in the design and development of military systems incorporating GFX and COTS components.
Significant experience integrating, testing and evaluating Combat System products on naval platforms or similarly complex systems.
Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment, ideally within Defence.
Ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners to achieve shared outcomes.
Deep expertise in relevant combat system technologies and domains.
Experience applying engineering development methodologies to complex systems.
Knowledge of key C4ISREW or warfare domains (AAW, ASW, ASuW) is highly regarded.
