General Summary
The Associate Director of Clinical Education leads and manages all operations related to clinical educators, serving as a vital link between departments, physicians, administration, patients, guests, and the broader community. This role oversees personnel, budgets, policies, and ensures compliance with accrediting bodies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide daily leadership and oversight for the Clinical Education office, guiding clinical educators to achieve excellence. Continuously evaluate and enhance department performance while maintaining quality control programs. Collaborate closely with quality and risk management teams to identify and address quality concerns through action plans and lean process improvements. Coordinate clinical new employee orientation and ensure ongoing competency through skill validations and performance reviews. Work in partnership with nursing departments to optimize patient outcomes using a systems approach. Foster a positive culture that encourages staff satisfaction, growth, and development. Oversee staff development initiatives to deliver timely and relevant education, ensuring high-quality care for patient populations. Evaluate educational strategies and programs to measure goal achievement. Coordinate with internal departments to implement annual mandatory training. Develop educational materials using audiovisual aids and simulations to support adult learning.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Master's degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field preferred.
Experience
Minimum of three years clinical experience required. Two or more years in management or supervisory roles preferred.
Certification/License
Registered Nurse (RN) license in a Compact State or equivalent required.
Mental/Physical Requirements
Requires considerable mental focus. Physical activities include lifting up to 35 lbs., frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
Working Conditions
Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, including blood and body fluids. Occasional exposure to hostile individuals. Minimal physical discomfort expected.
