Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as a Durable Medical Equipment Specialist. This role involves providing daily clinical services related to medical supplies and equipment, ensuring patients receive proper fittings and support for their devices.

Key Responsibilities

Perform patient equipment set-ups, fittings, and troubleshoot device usage to ensure compliance and reimbursement eligibility.

Clean and conduct basic functional tests on medical equipment.

Assist with billing processes by ensuring all documentation meets necessary medical necessity and insurance requirements.

Track and report inventory levels of medical supplies.

Deliver equipment to patients' homes when needed and coordinate equipment transfers within healthcare facilities.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurance regulations as well as current medical equipment options.

Participate in quality monitoring and process improvement initiatives for durable medical equipment services.

Follow infection prevention protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment during patient interactions.

Handle hazardous materials safely according to SDS guidelines.

Provide emotional support to patients and families, and communicate patient status effectively with interdisciplinary teams.

Assist in mentoring and orienting new staff members.

Maintain a cooperative and respectful working environment with patients, visitors, and colleagues. Education and Certifications

Valid LPN license.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.

Completion of Mandatory Reporter training within six months of hire. Experience and Requirements

Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Limited liability insurance coverage as required.

Ability to perform physical job demands with or without accommodations.

Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Commitment to compliance with federal, state, and professional licensure standards.

Reliable attendance and willingness to participate in ongoing training and meetings.
