Description

This position is responsible for teaching, research, administration, and service activities as they relate to the Decatur Family Medicine Residency program and to the FQHC. This position includes outpatient care and inpatient services.

Examples of Duties

I. Teaching 45%

1. Supervise resident physicians and medical students in patient care activities at the

Family Medicine site and other outpatient settings.

2. Conduct and supervise teaching rounds on hospitalized medicine and OB patients.

3. Participates in education conferences, seminars, and lectures for resident physicians and

medical students.

4. Supervises, observes, and evaluates resident physicians and other advanced students in

the Family Medicine Program.

5. Responsible for teaching and services activities as they relate to the Decatur Family

Medicine Residency program to enhance the quality of the residency program.

II. Service (Patient Care) 47.5%

1. Provide direct patient care to own patient panel.

2. Participate in the Family Medicine Faculty Inpatient call.

3. Participate in obstetrical call.

4. Serve on school-wide, departmental and community committees and requested.

5. Serve on residency program, community, and hospital committees, as assigned.

6. Participate in Center Peer Review and Quality Improvement activities.

7. Provide emergency services to patients as needed including those who are identified as

having no primary care physician.

8. Participants in internal or external professional organizations and/or committees as

delegated by the Residency Program Director, Medical Director, and FQHC.

III. Administration 2.5%

1. Directs and administers clinical and educational activities related to the program as

delegated by the Residency Program and Medical Director.

IV. Research 5%

1. Devise and carry out research projects of their own design with assistance from other

faculty members.

2. Assist Residents and medical students in the development of research projects and will

help supervise their activities

Qualifications

1. Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.

2. Must possess an MD or DO degree

3. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine at time of hire

4. Graduate of an Accredited Family Medicine Residency Program.

5. Licensed in the State of Illinois or eligible for Illinois licensure at time of hire

6. Possess a DEA number at time of hire

7. Experienced with providing services to multicultural population.

8. Must be willing to practice inpatient family medicine and obstetrical call.

Supplemental Information

The budgeted annual salary range is $225,828 to $248,410, representing the academic base salary only, which is funded through the University. The final academic base salary will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget considerations. Additional clinical compensation will be provided separately through a member practice agreement.
