Project Engineer

The Professional Division of Spherion Mid-Ohio is partnered with an established and growing construction company in Gunnison CO is seeking a Project Engineer with base pay up to $80K + Bonus based on skill set & experience. Come join their team!

The Project Engineer - supports project-level engineering and administrative functions. This position will work closely with the Project Manager and field operations teams to ensure effective communication, scheduling, risk management, and successful execution of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Preconstruction Support:

Review estimates developed by the estimating team

Develop schedules, phasing plans, and logistics strategies

Conduct constructability reviews

Prepare bid packages and define scopes of work

Manage bidding and procurement processes for subcontractors and suppliers Project Coordination & Management:

Monitor and control project costs

Prepare and distribute reports

Manage RFIs (Requests for Information) and submittals

Provide monthly schedule updates

Coordinate with the Field Superintendent to resolve issues, ensure site safety, and manage subcontractor manpower

Attend and document PM meetings

Maintain project documentation

Support project closeout and finalization Additional Duties:

Ensure subcontracts and purchase orders are clearly understood and executed

Identify and mitigate project risks

Contribute to RFQ/RFP responses and project interviews

Help identify and pursue new job opportunities

Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required

Associate degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred (or equivalent experience)

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Experience with VISTA accounting/project management software a plus

Valid driver's license with clean driving record

Strong work ethic and ability to follow written/verbal instructions
