CSG is organized by core customer-facing lines of business to manage and grow programs within the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), United States Geological Survey (USGS), and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), while extending our capabilities to other civilian federal government agencies fully integrated within Aerospace rules, regulations, processes, values, and behaviors.

Within CSG, the Human Exploration and Spaceflight (HESF) Division supports our NASA customer in all aspects of human space flight and program office activities. We are seeking a Human Spaceflight Systems Engineering and Integration Risk Management Engineer (Member of Technical Staff/Project Engineer - Systems Engineering) for the Pressurized Rover Project. The person selected for the position will be leading and integrating the Human Exploration & Space Flight (HESF) divisions support to NASA's EVA and Surface Mobility Program. The HESF division is an organization of engineers providing technical and acquisition expertise along with critical recommendations to NASA's human space flight and space technology enterprise customer to achieve mission success across a large portfolio of space, ground, and user segments.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at Johnson Space Center in Houston TX.

What You'll Be Doing

Participate in Artemis program risk working groups representing the Pressurized Rover project

Implement Pressurized Rover risk management processes throughout the lifecycle of the project

Ensure effective horizontal and vertical integration of risks

Provide recommendations for approval, acceptance, closure, and escalation of top risks

Prompt risk owners to periodically review risk mitigation plans for effectiveness

Facilitate the transfer of Pressurized Rover identified risk to the appropriate organization

Provide training to risk owners and integrators on how to assess, view, create, and edit risks

Collect and report risk metrics to the pressurized Rover management team

Obtain training on risk informed decision-making

Facilitate training of risk owners on JAXA, NASA and Pressurized Rover risk systems

Assist risk owners and Pressurized Rover management on implementing risk decision-making and CRM practices into the Pressurized Rover project

Facilitate the handling of and manage the escalation of risk from concerns and watch items to risk respectively for action

Be cognizant of project, program, and center risks systems and functions

Ensure completeness of closure and acceptable rationale

Evaluate project office candidate risks

Assist risk submitters to create risk with scoring

Update risk handling mitigation planning of risk with the project office Serve as the risk management plan book owner

Provide technical and programmatic risk management and coordination across multiple organizations, including both customer and contract personnel for cross program EHP SEI risks

Develop periodic status reports and presentations and provide integrated risk overview and mitigation strategies

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customer leadership What You Need to be Successful - Member of Technical Staff- Systems Engineering

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in engineering/science or another applicable STEM area

At least 3+ years of progressively responsible professional engineering/scientific experience

Experience with NASA S&MA and Risk Management processes

Effective interpersonal skills and integration skills

Willingness to travel domestically approximately 10%

This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Project Engineer- Systems Engineering include:

A bachelor's degree in engineering/science or another applicable STEM area

At least 6+ years of progressively responsible professional engineering/scientific experience

Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues on human spacecraft systems

Familiarity with EVA and planetary surface systems, requirements, and interfaces

Strong team leadership and coordination abilities How You Can Stand Out
