Job Description
Description of Duties:
Provide instruction for the full-range of the speech curriculum that includes public speaking, interpersonal communication, group discussion, argumentation, and intercultural communication
Support and be capable of coaching a competitive College Forensic Program
Prepare complete course syllabi and outlines, and work on articulation agreements with local colleges and schools
Develop and maintain a relevant community college curriculum leading to certificate and degree completion in Speech Communication
Adapt instructional techniques to accommodate varied learning styles and abilities to support student success
Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses
Participate in division, college and/or district-wide committees
Be committed to, and participate in, the shared-governance process Essential Duties Summary

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's in speech, speech broadcasting, telecommunications, rhetoric, communication, communication studies, speech communication, or organizational communication OR
Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in drama/theater arts, mass communication, or English OR
The equivalent

Salary Range
Steps 1: $1,377.25 - Step 10: $2,306.66 per unit.
Benefits Information
PART-TIME (less than .60 FTE): Part-time positions less than .60 FTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits.

The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part-time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.
Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.

Education Code §87408.6 states that no person shall be initially employed by a community college district in an academic or classified position unless the person has submitted to an examination within the past sixty (60) days to determine that he/she/they is free of active tuberculosis.
