Muscle Shoals City Schools is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to fill one or more positions for Self-Contained Special Education Teachers. The successful candidate(s) will work with students in grades kindergarten through 8th grade who have low-incident disabilities. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide specialized instruction and support to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.

Responsibilities include:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with low-incident disabilities.

Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning for all students.

Provide differentiated instruction tailored to each student's abilities and learning style.

Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and parents to address student needs and progress.

Utilize various teaching strategies, adaptive materials, and assistive technologies to enhance learning experiences.

Monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching methods as needed to ensure academic and social growth.

Foster a positive and nurturing rapport with students to encourage their academic and personal development.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records regarding student performance, attendance, and behavior.

Stay abreast of best practices, methodologies, and developments in special education.

Salary Range: From/To Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. MSCS pays above the state salary matrix.
