Position Summary

Adjunct faculty are needed to teach in the Department of Social Work in the following areas:

BSW Program

MSW Program The University of St. Francis is a welcoming community of learners committed to enhancing diversity and equity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Teach courses in the Social Work Department during Spring semester 2026

Prepare and teach lessons and assign learning activities as appropriate

Assess student learning

Meet with students as needed

Minimum Requirements

MSW degree in Social Work or related field

Willingness to support the Catholic and Franciscan values of the university

Available to teach on-campus in Joliet, IL

Preferred Requirements

Ph.D. in Social Work

Higher education teaching experience in undergraduate social work education, expertise in HBSE series, and macro practice

Active Professional Educators License (PEL)

Professional experience as a licensed Social Worker

Hours/Shift/Work Schedule

Based on Social Work department needs/course schedules.

Physical Requirements of Position

Work performed in classroom settings with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. This sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: sitting, walking, bending, stooping, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.
