️ Job Summary

The Yard Foreman is responsible for organizing and maintaining the warehouse and lumber yard while leading a team to ensure accurate inventory, efficient loading, and top-notch customer service. This role includes coordinating deliveries, operating forklifts, training team members, and maintaining safety standards throughout the yard.

Key Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service to contractors and DIY customers

Supervise and train yard staff to ensure productivity and safety

Communicate with the buying team to maintain appropriate product levels

Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently

Build loads for delivery and ensure accurate, damage-free shipments

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment

Deliver materials to job sites and offload using equipment when necessary

Keep the yard clean, safe, and well-organized

Photo document deliveries and report discrepancies

Maintain delivery vehicles and coordinate repairs as needed

Process and track damage claims and returns in a timely manner

Qualifications

Valid Class E driver’s license and clean driving record required

Strong organizational and leadership skills

Able to lift up to 80 lbs. and use proper lifting techniques

Comfortable operating heavy machinery and power equipment

Able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods

Experience in warehouse or yard operations preferred

Strong communication skills and ability to work independently

Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
