Position Specifics:

Purpose:
Applicant will train with experienced service technicians to learn to perform diagnostic, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer agricultural equipment with a focus in application equipment repair. Applicant will work/train out of the Perry, IL location but will eventually primarily work out in the field on agriculture and application equipment in the Perry/Winchester/White Hall areas.
Responsibilities:
Learns and performs basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and application equipment as well as established Agriculture Management Solution (AMS) products
Learns information about Agriculture Retail businesses to provide support to Agriculture Retail Providers and local farmers who utilize John Deere agriculture and application equipment
Participates in Service EDUCATE Training Programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
Learns knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
Accounts for all time and all material used in performing assigned duties Job Requirements:
Basic diesel mechanic experience along with a desire to learn about application equipment is required
High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred
Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
Proficient oral and written communication skills
Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
Valid driver's license required along with a good driving record
Must maintain a good driving record in compliance with company Motor Vehicle Records criteria throughout employment

Pay Information:
The hourly pay range for this position is $17 to $22. This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base hourly wage for this role. Based on factor such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.
In Season Hours : Monday-Friday 7am-5pm, Saturday 7am-12pm (rotation)
Off Season/Winter Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm
*Off season hours are from November-March. Start and end date to winter hours is dependent on year and subject to change.*
