Job Description
Pharmacy Technician II is responsible for assisting pharmacist in all aspects of pharmaceutical care including processing and distribution of all drug and IV orders.
Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
Pay based on experience starting at $16.94
Responsibilities
Assists Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Technician I in the chart audits to check for accuracy in pharmacy billing., Assists pharmacists in ensuring that drug storage locations are maintained in an appropriate manner (such as but not all including, floor stock, automated dispensing machines (ADM), specialty and emergency drug boxes/carts., Assists pharmacists in ensuring the pharmacy inventory is maintained at appropriate levels in a cost-conscious manner to promote availability of items included in the Formulary., Assists pharmacists to prepare and dispense medications. Prepare intravenous (IV) fluids and IV admixtures under the supervision of a pharmacist., Cleans equipment according to current guidelines., Delivers medications and supplies to appropriate departments, within appropriate time frames., Ensures accurate patient charging and medications dispensed from the pharmacy and automated dispensing machines (ADM) to promote financial viability of the hospital., Files reports, invoices, and other necessary documents in accordance with the department standards., Loads, picks and refills all medications needed in the automated dispensing machine (ADM) once approved by pharmacist. Keeps the ADM's maintained and troubleshoots any problems the staff might have., Maintains current cost and pricing of all medications and intravenous (IV) fluids in the computer system., Orders, receives, and stores incoming supplies, medications, and IV fluids., Packages dry and liquid orals in unit of use containers using a combination of mechanical equipment and manual procedures. Completes documentation required for unit of use packaging., Performs unit inspections and expiration checks as directed., Responsible for segregating and preparing outdated medications for reverse distribution visits., Shelves new drug stock (with proper rotation of items), arranging stock, maintaining shelf labels / inventory indicators.
