We here at Massman Companies are looking for someone to join our talented team on days in Villard, MN. Someone who knows their way around a lathe, loves working with their hands, and brings craftsmanship to every cut.

Requirements

Key Skills

Set up and operate manual lathes to machine custom parts

Ability to know the types of material (aluminum, steel, and stainless)

Ability to use measuring tools (Caliper, Micrometer, etc)

Read and interpret blueprints

Experience running manual lathes (not just CNC) and other manual machine tools

Strong mechanical aptitude and high attention, and reliable work ethic

Knowledge of metal properties, cutting speeds, and feeds

Familiarity with tolerances and surface finishes Qualifications

2-year degree and or experience in the field

3+ years of experience operating a manual lathe preferred

Vocational or technical training in machining is a plus

High attention to detail and accuracy

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

Basic Computer skills

Good communication and organizational skills Physical Requirements

Able to stand for extended periods of time

Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs as needed

Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment (noise, dust, grease, etc)
