Maintenance Supervisor

The Plant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing principled leadership and support for Company growth and improvements, cultivating a positive innovative work environment while supporting employees to ensure standard operating procedures, safety, GMPs/SQF and quality maintenance programs. The Supervisor will provide strong leadership, guidance and direction for all maintenance employees in the plant, have direct responsibility for maintenance and ensuring that volume, cost standards and quality parameters are achieved, keeping safety in mind as a priority. Managing a work environment that is 24/7 operation with product changes and manage high quality standards using varying technologies. This is an exempt position typically working days and additional hours may be needed with weekend and holiday rotations required based on operational needs.

Key responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

Supervise maintenance staff, which includes: (a) provide real-time feedback on worker performance and associated formal evaluations, (b) schedule work hours and shifts and manage employee timecards, (c) coordinate job rotation, training and cross-training, (d) identify and resolve performance issues such as tardiness or absenteeism, (e) adherence to Company policies, procedures and practices, including safety, GMPs and all policies of Agri-Mark.

Coach and lead workers and work teams to achieve performance, quality, cost and service goals. Ensure employee ability to repair and maintain manufacturing equipment safety and efficiently.

Supervise running equipment throughout the plant periodically during the shift to identify potential problems and/or areas of concern, and to minimize/eliminate instances of failure.

Supervise the installation, maintenance and repair of all equipment in West Springfield.

Assist the Maintenance Manager and Project Engineers in the planning of projects and repairs in the plant.

Responsible for Agri-Mark Work Order and Preventive Maintenance system including, but not limited to, assigning work orders and PMs, working with production to enable completion, ensuring all work orders are filled out properly, ensure work orders are assigned to the proper staff, ensure work is prioritized properly, ensure work is completed in a timely manner.

Responsible for developing and maintaining repair and maintenance SOPs/GMPs.

Develop and implement operation methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.

Must perform all tasks using Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), following the Food Safety and Food Quality requirements of the SQF Program and enforce compliance with GMPs throughout the plant. Comply with all Plant, State, Federal, OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP and SQF guidelines and regulations for food safety, quality and employee safety.

Work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.

Heavy physical effort. Requires the occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 100 lbs. Requires the occasional handling and maneuvering of objects weighing more than 150 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling and crouching.

Other duties as assigned.

Pay range for this position is $70,000-$90,000, depending on experience.
