Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) to join our healthcare team in Ohio. In this role, you will perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures that are essential for diagnosing and monitoring diseases. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely test results, contributing to high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and complex laboratory tests on patient samples, including blood, urine, and tissue specimens.
Analyze test results, ensuring accuracy and quality control standards are met.
Interpret laboratory findings and report results to physicians and other healthcare providers.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and regulatory guidelines, including infection control standards.
Document test results and maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Prepare specimens for analysis and ensure proper storage and handling of biological samples.
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with laboratory instruments or testing procedures.
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities within the lab.
Stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and practices through ongoing education and training. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) through ASCP or equivalent preferred.
At least 1 year of experience working in a laboratory setting preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
