JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a motivated and experienced CNC Machinist to join our company. As part of our team, you will follow blueprints, determine material measurements, and take responsibility for fabricating parts used in later assembly processes.
To be successful as a CNC Machinist you should be creative, perceptive, detail-oriented and an active learner. Top candidates will have exceptional critical thinking, time management and communication skills, an ability to handle complex machines and tools, and a willingness to lead by example in the workplace.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Operates and maintains lathe and milling machines
Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production
Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping
Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task
Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment
Responsible for finished parts conformity to print or specification
Conserves materials by minimizing waste
Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects
Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs
Set up and operate CNC lathes or mills
Perform first article and in process inspections
Perform general maintenance on the machines
Participate in Lean Manufacturing activities
Follows all safety regulations
Maintains a safe and clean workstation
Performs other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of the required level of education.
Certificate in machine shop technology or machine tool technology/machinist including CNC milling and turning, programming, setup, and operation.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
2+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role
Working knowledge of how to set up and operate CNC lathes or mills
Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly
Ability to write and edit machine programs
Understanding of blueprints, drawings, and models
Knowledge of inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
Proficiency in math
Working knowledge of safety protocols
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Outstanding attention to detail
Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced team environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds. Must use assistance when lifting 50 or more pounds.
Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
Hourly Pay Range Minimum $20.22 - Midpoint $25.27
