Description
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Purpose: To build and machine Prototype components to the specifications required, while working in close collaboration with the Engineering Department and Production Departments.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety program.
• Analyze drawings, specifications and other shop data for standard tool configuration.
• Positions and secures parts on surface plate for inspection purposes.
• Uses necessary hand tools including dyna-files, pencil grinder, hand drills, basic shop tools
• Lays out, fits, and assembles parts to repair cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, or machinists' tools
• Understands basic blueprints, rev block, description, dimension lines, section view, and tolerances.
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Will train the following on the job:
• Operate the following equipment: drill press, surface grinder, vertical and horizontal band saw, hydraulic press, pedestal grinder, tool & cutter grinder, Sunnen hone, optical comparator, tool pre-setter.
• Operate and read basic hand measurement instruments with repeatable skill and accuracy with micrometers, depth micrometer, dial calipers, inspection pins, travel and lever indicators, test centers, radius gauges, gauge blocks, inspection pins, thread plug gauges, thread ring gauges, and plug gauges, functional gauges, height stands.
• Programs and operates tool room lathes and tool room mills.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area and safe shop environment.
• Proficient at machining fixture components on tooling mills and turning centers.
• Performs preventive maintenance to shop equipment as needed.
• Gain understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Demonstrate commitment to the TEAM Industries Quality Management system and Objectives.
• Promote a positive atmosphere. Actively support activities that promote the welfare and morale of TEAM employees.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Education & Experience:
• Two-year technical degree preferred
• Zero to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
