Leading Equipment Manufacturer seeks an experienced Fab Shop Manager for our Kenner facility. We are looking for an ambitious and entrepreneurial professional who wants to have a progressive career. Position Overview

As our Fab Shop Manager, you will oversee all operations within the sheet metal fabrication and machine shop departments, ensuring high-quality production, efficient workflows, and a safe working environment. In addition to other key responsibilities, you will manage two direct reports: Supervisor of Sheet Metal Fabrication and Supervisor of Machine Shop, with a total responsibility of 30+ production personnel. It is your responsibility to drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and collaborate with other departments to meet organizational goals. This is a hands-on management job so a background in machining is vital so you can train and coach machine operators and programmers from your personal experience and knowledge.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Team Leadership: Manage, train, and motivate a team of fabrication personnel, including hiring, performance evaluations, and professional development.

Production Oversight: Plan and coordinate fabrication activities to meet production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.

Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to maintain standards for fabricated components, ensuring compliance with industry specifications.

Safety Compliance: Enforce workplace safety protocols, ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.

Reporting: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, quality metrics, and labor efficiency to ensure performance meets organizational goals. Position Compensation

Position Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in fabrication or manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role

Technical Skills: Proficiency in fabrication techniques, blueprint reading, programming CNC controls; Must be familiar with a variety of CNC machines such as, lathes, milling, VTLs, bridge mills, sheet metal laser, press brakes, rolls, and other fabrication equipment; must have machine shop and sheet metal machining background

Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a proven track record of motivating and developing teams

Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address production challenges and implement effective solutions

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members, other departments, and external stakeholders

This isa full time onsite position with typical working hours Monday through Thursday, 6am-4:30pm, with occasional overtime on Fridays to meet production deadlines as needed
