JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Technology Technician

WORK DAYS: 12 months (240 days)

REPORTS TO: Director of Technology, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Superintendent

FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate Degree in Technology or related field

Higher experience as local school or district technology coordinator, technology coach, or technology integration specialist is preferred

Strong technical skills in networking

Experience in technology integration and network troubleshooting

Experience in the creation and delivery of technology rich professional development

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Dependable and timely in all assignments

Ability to work with people of all ages and levels of technical skills while maintaining a positive and patient attitude

Well informed, efficient, and effective in selecting, using, and troubleshooting various technological devices and internally based, web-based and cloud-based applications DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be a technology leader that supports learning

Stay current in new and emerging technologies and uses of technology in your school, in the state, and in other "top" schools across the country

Respond to technology service request in a timely manner

Assist teachers in the development of technology infused lessons and technology integration

Assist with providing staff with instructional resources including hand-outs, one-on-one training, videos, and/or web-based resources to assist in the use of and integration of technology

Model effective use of instructional technology during classroom co-teaching and demonstration lessons

Design and deliver professional development sessions that align with school and district goals

Provide individual and group coaching on instructional technology tools and best practices for integration

Spend half a day in each assigned building, providing staff on-site instructional technology assistance and support

Assist with planning and implement technology-enriched workshops after school, during department/grade level meetings, embedded and/or during the summer

Assist staff with software selections and usage

Provide necessary data for short term and long-term technology planning

Administer technology related surveys and evaluate results data provided by district office

Maintain local and district inventory and assist with district technology issues

Assist in developing and managing local school technology, plan, budget, and inventory

Enter and monitor local school technical support requests involving voice, video, data, software, and hardware

Manage student and staff user accounts as directed by the technology director

Respond in a timely fashion to requests and inquiries submitted via IT Direct, email, voicemail or in person from local school users

Assists in other such responsibilities that may be assigned

Attend weekly technology coordinator meetings and other professional development opportunities

Attend local school meetings

Maintain current information concerning student and staff access, security, and overall data governance

Install and/or maintain software applying current updates, uploading users, and making configuration changes where applicable

Assist staff with hardware use, connectivity, and/or problems including, but not limited to, computer workstations, laptops, Chromebooks, iPads, handheld devices, printers, projection devices, video filming, editing and production equipment, data projectors, document cameras, etc.

Provide technical support for new and existing software used by students and staff

Serve as the district school webmaster and provide support to staff concerning his/her web page responsibilities

Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements: Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity are required to perform job responsibilities. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with evaluation procedures and Board policy.
