Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; Master's degree preferred.
Three (3) years of Highly Effective/Effective teaching experience in an area of exceptional student education.
Certification in one or more areas of special education; dual special education/regular education certification preferred.
Proven experience successfully managing business/department functions and staff preferred.
Industry certification preferred.
Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable.

Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; analytical, mathematical, organizational, and prioritization skills; flexibility and adaptability in dealing with rapidly changing priorities and demands.
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and enforce pertinent regulations, policies, and procedures for the functional area of assignment.
Knowledge of and experience using multiple project management tools and methodologies.
Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.
Ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel.

Responsibilities
Provide staff development, technical assistance, and consultation services to instructional personnel and the school administrator in areas relating to compliance under the Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Represent the Director of Exceptional Student Education (ESE) at multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, manifestation hearings, and individual educational program (IEP) meetings.
Serve as a resource for families of students with disabilities.
Perform Medicaid administrative claims reimbursable activities as directed in accordance with Chapter 3 of the federally approved School District Administrative Claiming (SDAC) Guide.
Attend meetings/inservice training with the Director of Exceptional Student Education/designee a minimum of two (2) times per month.
Collaborate with school personnel to ensure accurate full-time equivalency (FTE) reporting and compliance under state and federal guidelines. Revised: 1/26/21
